How Arduino is Revolutionizing Our After-School Classes in Trujillo
This year we have incorporated the Arduino platform into our introduction to robotics module, and the results with our high school students have been extraordinary.
At our in-person academy in Trujillo, we firmly believe in hands-on learning. That's why we have designed a program where young people not only learn theoretical concepts of electronics and programming but immediately apply them by creating their first interactive projects.
Materials and Module Structure
To ensure orderly and effective learning, each student receives a personal kit that includes:
- Complete Arduino Uno board with USB cable.
- Set of LEDs, resistors, and push buttons for basic circuits.
- Ultrasonic distance sensor and servo motor for advanced projects.
- Step-by-step project manual, designed by our instructors.
The module is divided into 8 in-person sessions, where we progress from lighting a simple LED to programming a sensor that measures distance and triggers an alarm. The excitement in the classroom when a project works for the first time is indescribable.
“ Robotics with Arduino is not just programming; it's problem-solving, it's thinking logically and creatively. It's the best preparation for the future we can offer our youth. ”
Integration with the HTML/CSS Course
An innovative aspect of our program is how we connect robotics with web creation. Students who are also taking our static web pages module learn to document their Arduino projects on a webpage that they code themselves in HTML and CSS.
This integration fosters complete digital skills: from the code that makes an LED blink to the code that displays that achievement attractively on the internet.
